Im glad justice came to order here, though hes probably only sorry because of the fine, suspension and confiscation. Hopefully he learn from his mistake and can move foreward and be a productive member of society!

I wasn't on HNI back then, but I remember Ben telling me about it later. Glad you took the appropriate measures Rob.:hail:

Funny he didn't even mention the HNI incident that started it all until someone brought it up way later in the thread...

Maybe it's me, but WHERE IS THE APOLOGY!? All I see is excuses. Youth, inexperience, blah, blah, blah. BS!!!! He isn't sorry for what he did, he's sorry that he got caught. Good for you Rob & the others that gave this fine piece of work an understanding of the law. I don't remember the incident, but I'm glad that he got busted. As you can read, he wasn't exactly affected by the ban either. Good ridence. I hope they gave what he deserved.

Jeez dudes... some of you guys act like the guy walked up to your dog and kicked it.

He made his apology.. his excuse and everything else in between on a public forum. He's not my hero.. but who cares. Really.

Did you google the guy? I wouldn't think an Alberta hunting forum would have many visitors. I had forgotten about the whole thing until this post. As far as his apology goes, I really don't care one way or another if he's sincere about it. He did the crime, got caught and is paying his debt to society. I'm sure he's not the first one to try to cheat in the HNI hunting contest.

Not sure if you guys continued to read the posts. He seems to still have a lack of respect for the contest and in my eyes isn't sorry for his actions,

What about shooting that whitetail with a gun in the head, and posed with your bow pretending it was a bowkill? Was that shot in the bow season?

Secondly, there was a young offender with you that you said was not on this board. Might want to think twise about that and admit who it was before I post because a good friend of yours told me it was indeed someone on this board, NOT Tundra-buck like I said before, I was assuming when I said that and made a point to say I didn't have any hard evidence, but this is more concrete. If I am wrong and the person who told me is wrong, I take full responsibility but I will find out the truth and post it if you dont. Think hard.

HAHAHA Oh Shawn your trying to scare me with what?

Umm well first off reason i posed with the bow is cause i was in a comp and tryed to screw around in it and the "young offender" was never charged with anything, they accused and had no evidence of that person being involved and that person never was, so therefore no one on this forum took part in any illegal activity with me. So you still have no "Concrete evidence" cause if the law didnt u sure dont.

As for everyone i respect and thank you for what you have said and iam takin what some of you have told me and gunna run with it since i do have a while to work it out.

but please dont try to mentor. trust is broken. bow out and move on.
Whats the best way to learn? Our whole lives we have learned good from bad mostly from doing wrong or right or by seeing others doing wrong or right. Im by far not trying to mentor anybody just another person that has done wrong and others will learn from. Most of the laws we know of nowadays are from hearing or seeing other people break them so here iam breaking the law and others reading/hearing about and knowning that is wrong to do.

Im not one to back down as i have just proven or to run with my tail between my legs like a scared dog. Im hear fessing up to what i have done and refuse to back down.

Yep, I remember that one. I thought the deer got hit by a train on the tracks in the original picture. It had it's eye popped out.

Glad to see he got what was coming to him. Although I doubt it, I hope he learned his lesson.

Hell no bbm, that's kinda pathetic. Is that what you think?

I received the email tonight from the gentleman who called the Alberta authorities and just thought I'd share the update as slow as the justice system is. This "apology" was suppose to happen on HNI per according to the Judges decree and as you can see, it was just posted in the past week.

Sorry to bring it back to you but I did have several inquiries over some time. Feel free to skip the thread entirely. :d

I just have a personal conflict with tattling on a little kid for doing something wrong. I dunno. I guess he learned a lesson, maybe. But what did this whole charade really solve?

Kids make mistakes. It's what they do. They sort it out on their own, as they grow up. That self-evaluation and maturation is part of becoming a man.

Meh. Whatever. I hope he embraces the opportunity to straighten himself out.

I don't know who picked up the phone and called the Alberta authorities, but that's definitely not something that I could've or would've done. It takes a pretty cold sense of justice and a large set of stones to make a phone call and bring that kind of punishment down on a youngster . . .

I have a lot of respect for the gentleman that called the authorities. If you bothered to really know what your talking about Fran, his Uncle and Father were indited as well. This wasn't just the mistake of a youngster, there were several involved in severe game violations. You may be one that overlooks poaching but I say well done to (.. ......) for not being part of the problem but part of the solution. I know your post was to insult and self promote but in this one, you don't have a clue.

From what I recall Jeff, (.. ......) took what we found on HNI and looked into it further. If I remember correctly, the time frame and region that this happened, there was no rifle season and the pictures of lc and his dad/uncle with rifle/gun kills prompted the call. The Alberta authorities actually read through the HNI thread that I started and looked even deeper into the issue. I was never contacted by them although (.. ......) contacted me and said that they may, strictly for the HNI thing and such though they never did as once they confronted the alleged, they pretty much came clean. In all, lc, dad and uncle all had guns and privileges taken away. There is ton more to the story but again,

I for one applaud (.. ......) for taking action. I also thank those members that prodded me to make it public and I also thank those for the encouraging PM's and open statements but remember, I'm only giving you all the update as requested by some. The applauds, kudos and props go to another but I also respect his anonymity because look at what just some of these whatevers simply wish to bash.

    Others, KMA. :d

Apparently, my preferred modes of "self-promotion" and "insult" do not include tattling on small children, then gloating these successful law enforcement conquests online.

But then again, I "don't have a clue."

You can have your opinion, and I'll have mine. All I know is that hell would freeze over before I'd ever pick up the phone and call the authorities to bring felony charges to a child over a hunting law violation. I'm sure he got some penal leniency for pleading guilty. Had he not pled and gone to trial, it's not out of the question that he could've faced bigger fines or even incarceration at a juvenile detention center.

Those are big-time consequences for a young man. There were days throughout this process where this kid feared for every ounce of his freedom and livelihood. Those are heavy ramifications for a stupid, immature moment of weakness.

I'm sure he deserved everything he got... All I'm saying is that I sure wouldn't wanna be the guy who raised the red flag on that one. I give kids the benefit of the doubt, and my conscience surely wouldn't need the extra weight.

...and for what its worth, the adults in this kid's life seem like they definitely got their due. Some role models...
