This is what I would do go a few Higher and wider if your situation calls for it.Get a camouflage tarp and cover it when not in use.Make it less noticeable.

I use a peice of 3/4" ply. I read someone say they blow through plywood but I never have. Also I haven't ever hit it at 20yds only 50+ so the arrow may lose enough by then to not blow through.

You know what else works great is an old wrestling mat. Go to the local high school and ask them if they have an old mat rolled up. If so, just make a frame and hang it from there, you'll never have to worry again!!

Frame a 4x4 backstop with the following: carpet | thick packing cardboard | carpet | plywood.

The arrow should stop by the second piece of carpet but the plywood is a safety precaution. Once you become proficient, then get yourself a deer target and hay bails as shown above. Good luck!

Your talking about capturing a stray arrow,.. tying an old wool blanket by the top corners, leaving the bottoms to hang freely behind your target will stop more than you think. Granted, its not something you would intentionally shoot at, but it will stop a field tip that gets away accidently. Cheap and easy to set up too.

I use old boxes packed tightly with old clothes and blankets. Then wrap them in plastic to water proof. Have been using the same boxes outside for over 3 years now.

I shot into an old table this arvo, and it went through about 2" of wood, and shaft and tip is fine.

    Not recommended tho.

A cow mat works just as well and is about a 1/3 the price.

In some places you can pick up pieces of used conveyor belt that works great.
