I switched two years ago to a Scott Rhino XT. Absolutely love the release. Nothing I don't like about it, but here are the things I do like. Hook style. Easy to hook onto the loop, even without looking down at the string. Adjustability. Several spring options to go from light to heavy trigger. I prefer a heavy trigger, which is better than a hair trigger by all accounts. The release also comes with two trigger options. I swept back trigger and a post style. I use the post style and switching from my old Tru Ball Copperhead to it, I picked up an inch of draw length. Scott NCS strap. Fully adjustable in length and also the buckle is nice and consistent. The head of the release is really small, which is nice and out of the way until you need it.
I have a Scott Little Goose. Its the only one I ever owned so cant compare it against anything else. Hasn't failed me although I should get a back up.
I have the Scott Little Goose too. Its value has doubled since I bought it though. It is the best release I have owned. Tru Ball is the only other brand I've tried though.
Scott Exxus is my go too release now. Tried it a few years ago and have not found anything I like better since and I ma forever changing up stuff.
I have used a wrist release, Scott Little Bitty Goose for the past 10 years and I like it. This year I decided to delve into using a thumb release (Scott Exxus) to get a better anchor point. I like it but it is definitely a work in progress. I like the idea of being able to clip my release on the string so it is ready immediately. I have lost shot opportunities before when a deer showed up unexpectedly and I couldn't clip my release on in time.
I've shot a Lil bitty goose for 10 years. Excellent release. I'm gonna switch to a Thumb release to get rid of the wrist strap and have a more consistent anchor point. Looking at Stan and Scott.
A good friend of mine who's a Scott dealer says they're discontinuing the exxus. They're having a lot of problems and are introducing a new one
Spot hogg wise guy is my newest release. Fully adjustable, zero travel and super clean break on the trigger.
I've had quite a few releases from tru-fire, tru ball, hot shot and stan. The one I shoot best with is the tru-fire hardcore maxx wrist release. They have a swiveling head design that supposed to reduce torque on your bow string...it must because I've never shot better.
