Let's chalk this one up to "human error".....lol Here's what a properly-functioning release should look like..... Don't think I'll be hunting for a few days. Cut it the day before our opener.
Our Lab has a wee weight problem (our fault). The vet said to supplement her food (dog food) with green beans (she LOVES them). I buy the huge cans, now. I was cleaning one out, and was holding the bottom as I cleaned it out. It slipped, and the still attached lid dove between my fingers. I looked down to see "things" inside my hand.....lol. NO pain, whatsoever. I went to the doc....then the ortho. The orthos re-attached a couple tendons and sewed me back up. I never experienced (still don't) any pain. I have a tri scheduled for this weekend. I'm heading to the pool, today, to see if I can swim. Oddly enough, I can now (did it, last week) shoot my bow with little to no discomfort. Weird.
It's pretty damned tough to stick your own hand. Leg, other body part where you at least have a second hand to tie the knots, not so difficult, but the hand..... I don't think so.... :D Sorry to hear about it Jeff, I saw it the other day at work and just got interrupted before I was able to send condolences. Probably a relief that you're not getting ready to head west when this happened.... Glad to hear it's not too painful and that you're doing well.
