What is everyone's perception of Reflex archery? I heard that they were made by Hoyt, but I was wondering what the public thought of them. Also, I noticed that cabelas and Basspro shops does not carry them on their websites anymore. Any reason for this?

I love my Reflex Bows. I own two of them- the 2006 Reflex Excursion and the 2008 Reflex Charger. I shot the Excursion last year and am using the Charger to hunt this year- I love it! I was pretty rough on the Excursion, not gonna lie. But I never once had an issue with it. Dropped it once, accidently smacked the limb off something when I shot it once, and I made a dumb mistake and dry-fired it once. I'm still shooting it and still no issues with it. Like I said, it held up very well. It is a Hoyt after all.

I was told that Hoyt stopped making Reflex because the HOYT sales dropped when the REFLEX sales started growing- don't know how much truth their is to that, though.

I'll be looking into the Hoyt "Hawk" series (specifically the Turbo Hawk) when it's time for me to upgrade because I was told that even though Hoyt isn't making "Reflex" anymore, that they just absorbed the Reflex bows back into their "Hunting lineup."

From what i have heard and seen lately in the pro shops, hoyt pulled the reflex line of bows for 2009 and added the mid-priced series (hawk) bows. If you remember back around 2000-2002, Hoyt sold mid-priced bows at various stores (i.e. gander mountain), not just pro shops. the turbo hawk looks pretty nice. good luck.

Had an 05 Excursion and loved it! Shot a Bowtech and loved it even more, but for the money the Excursion is a very nice smooth and quiet bow!

I have a 2006 Reflex Highlander and love it. It was the best bang for the buck from any bow that I found back then.

I'm a bowhunter who isn't really interested in the latest, greatest, high tech, whizz bang, 800 fps bow. ;)
I just need something that feels good, feels comfortable in my hand, and is very quiet.

I would have loved to get a Hoyt, but I couldn't afford the $$$$ tag at the time, so I found the "minor league AAA ball" model of Reflex and it is everything of a pro model Hoyt. From what I understand the Highlander model in 2006 was actually a phased out Hoyt Ultra Sport.

my first nice bow as I launched myself into this new fangled archery, was an 05 reflex buckskin. I still have it and still love it.
I also have bought a reflex excursion for my daughter, though later found it didn't work for her, to much bow.
nice though..incidentally it is for sale for what I paid for it, $200.00
set up rest, sight, peep. ready to shoot.
my son just bought a new closeout reflex growler from a guy on AT classifieds and paid 300 bucks for it.
    sweet bow. tack driver.
hoyt has taken that bow from the reflex line and it is now the hoyt power hawk. identical except for camo pattern.

it was explained to me from the hoyt dealer here, that hoyt discontinued the reflex line this season.
reflex was created for bow stores to be able to sell a hoyt bow, without the hoyt name. something along those lines.
the big stores like cabellas and gander had such poor customer service that hoyt did not want their name drug through the mud and just pulled the line.
maybe the hawk series is now what has evolved from the reflex line. not sure, but I know I shot my first ever nice buck with my reflex and that will never change.
I will take another nice buck this season with my new bear bow, but I will allways have a place in my heart for the reflex bows.

best bang for the buck in my opinion.
