I couldn't believe what I was watching yesterday when Washington did everything they possibly could at the end of the game to hand a win to the Saints. 180 degree turn from how they played the first 3 1/2 quarters of the game. The kicker should be dragged out and shot, or at least cut. No NFL quality kicker should miss a 25 yd field goal, and it seems that wasn't the first time this year. I was so disgusted I had to turn it off.
It was a sad site to see him miss that chip shot!! They should have drug him to mid field right then and taken turns kicking the snot out of him!!
Yup... this coming from a die hard Saints fan (yes, surprisingly, even before this season... lol) We got outplayed but their inability to capitalize at the end lost them the game.
IMHO, Kickers in the NFL are sort of a Joke. All they need to do is kick field goals. They practice ALL week kicking field goals. As far as I know, they don't need to understand playbooks...they need to understand how to kick a field goal. They get payed on average ~1 mil $ to kick field goals. I guess I don't really get why we are seeing more and more missed field goals, in recent years...
