I went to the RedHead 3D Pop-Up competition at Bass Pro this weekend. This my first kind of archery competition of any kind so I didn't really know what to expect going in to it. It turned out to be tons of fun. There was 5 targets that popped up, one at a time, ten seconds each. Each person shot 3 rounds, and they added you 2 best rounds together. My best 2 rounds was a 48+48=96. The top 8 shooters advanced to the finals for a shootoff, and guess who got 9th (this guy) No biggie though, it was tons of fun, and there were some serioulsy good shooters there. I just liked watching them. I held my own though, considering I was the only contestant under 30 years old. Here's a couple pics. Shooting at a wolf target. Yea I know.....my hip is forward:smash: I just want to point out how RIDICULOUS the location was for this shoot. Look at that highway in the background, it was easily wihtin arrow range. I pointed it out to the guys running the show, and they just kinda shrugged my comment off...FRUSTRATING
Why are you knocking on his safety helmet? Good shootin' Okie, regardless of what Minnie Kyle says..... You should of let one sail into the water to inform the directors of the shoot of their poor location choice.
One of the trad shooters actually did send one in to the pond, and he waded in the water to go get it. It was a good laugh for everyone lol. I cut my hair when I gets in the way of my peep sight while Im shooting. Its not there yet:d
I did this in Harrisburg, Pa a few years back got knocked out in the semi's shooting @ "pro speed". You almost saw the targets, Finished 4th.; It was fun. Good shooting.
Now that does look like a good time. Nice shooting by the way. Those are always good confidence builders.
