I have had 5 does for the past few days walk within 40 yards of my garage and 30 of the dining room window. But not near my stand.

These 75 and 80 degree days are not helping matter much, as I can't hang them like I usually do and don't have a fridge to put them in after I break them down. IMG_3623.jpg

I guess the good part is, I can use my garage as a blind and just open the people door and have a straight shot 40 yards or less.

I had some good movement this morning. Saw 6 different young bucks all within range just needed their daddy to show up. I also saw 3 coyotes. Ended up giving one a hair cut.

Yup this heat wave is killing me too. Opening day it was about 45 and we saw deer for days. Haven't seen a one since it heated up.

Sorry I haven't been posting guys I've been trying and succeeding in getting my nephew a buck for youth gun. He got a crazy old 8 point that only scored 115 but weighed 236! I'm guessing at 6-7 year old or older. I'm trying to find someone to age via teeth for him. So today I put down the camera and got my heli with me for my first sit at my big farm

I been busy with work lately but got out tonight and took a nice doe this evening, nothing like dragging a deer out in summer weather. This cold IC light never tasted so good! I also got to break in a new knife I got for a grooms gift, no better way than with some blood!

I know it was super late in to do this but we put up an elevated enclised blind yesterday.
I dont think itll work for using my bow very easily but my son will be able to gun hunt and my father in law use his crossbow

In this picture it wasnt 100% done, im not going to mess with this until i can actually try to shoot out of it with my bow and practice which wont be this year

    Still moving pretty late/early.
Big weather shift this week into a more traditional fall, cold in morning cool in evening.
Hope that means these deer change schedules

Soooooo... Not sure how I feel about this.
The 15 acres at my house is managed by me and my number 2 for all my property. It's too small to accommodate any more. I try to hunt only the edges due to size. Today as I could get in my stand early I thought I would sneak thru to the back and sit a stand that I never sit. My number 2 loves hunting it and said "it's all ready to go". I get out here and I have 3 lanes totalling 20°s out of 360° . And I can't shoot passed 15 yards tops..... But right in the main lane there is a fresh rub.
    Whatcha say guys?

Yeah maybe not the highest odds with minimal shooting lanes but you're set and now you can see what to trim and what not to trim.

Ah... To trim or not to trim that is the question

I had a great encounter with a really nice buck tonight. I had him at 30yards but a tree was in the way. He presented me one shot opportunity but I wanted to range him since the light was weird and after I ranged him my shot was gone. Good to see a nice buck though!
