In missouri where i hunt its still warm, like 90's this week Next week the temps start dipping, ill be in stand saturday the 30th, forecast right now is low in mid 40's high of mid upper 60's I can live with that but I'd be happier if those were down another 15-20 degrees already!
Well I punked out of going hunting this morning and evening. It was 86 today, I don’t want to stink up my urban spot, knocked out a bunch of “honey do” stuff tho. Also I just took the first two weeks of November off, trying to slow my roll this year and only hunt when things are “good”
I'm in the same mentality. Waiting for high percentage days and cooler weather. Hunting hard early didn't pay off last year Sent from my Z831 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Update from SD Today was our opener. I had planned to go to the western part of the state for a public land backpacking hunt, but highs in the 40s and 80% chance of rain with wind kept me from wanting to make the trip. Instead, I'll be pushing it back until Monday, and I'll be staying there for roughly five days. Since SD allows you to kill an archery buck in the western and eastern part of the state, I won't be picky with my western tag. If a 110 inch buck comes by, I'll be shooting. Good luck to everyone else who is out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m with you, instead of going out and hunting early a ton, so far I been Shooting a bunch of arrows and getting everything locked down instead.
Not sure if any of you listen to Wired to Hunt, but I host a podcast with Mark called Rut Radio. Each week I interview hunters across the country and get their intel on deer activity. If you're interested, give it a listen here: http://wiredtohunt.com/2017/09/20/wired-to-hunt-podcast-168-rut-radio-92017/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll have to give it a listen thanks for the link Sent from my Z831 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Get the stitcher app and even when you close the app it remembers where you leave off and all you need to do is press play
Mark and Dallas fort Worth ( Dan Johnson) have a great banter and lots of their guests have conflicting points of view and styles so you get to see the whole spectrum.
Other great ones are 9 finger cronicles ( which is actually Dan Johnson from wired to hunt) and meat eater
I just ate my last blackstrap. Things are getting serious here people. 1 week to go. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
