The conservation land I hunt had planted red milo this year instead of corn and I was wondering if Deer will eat the Milo seed and when. I have found some threads stating that they do eat it. I see deer in the field but they stay in the grassy parts of the field and I have not seen them eat at the milo. So if they do eat it, is their a certain time of year when they start feeding on it?
They will eat it once the seeds have fully developed or ripened. They might not be used to the milo if this is the first year you planted it. It happens with all food plots except clover which they hammer instinctively.
