I'm going to purchase a new trail cam soon and I really cannot make up my mind on which one to get but it's definitely going to be in the Covert lineup. What do yall think - Red 40 or Black 60 and why? I have already compared the specs, and they're mostly the same except the Red 40 has a slightly faster trigger speed but the Black 60 is "no glow". Is the extra money really worth it? Deer can't see red anyways, right?

    Thank you all in advance,

If you're worried about spooking deer definitely get the black 60.

If you place the Red 40's up high and angle them down it will help a lot. I put my 40's about 8 feet and my 60's about 3 feet but it depends on how the land lays.

Big fan of the Red40. Does great on battery drain and takes as quality of a photo as you will find. Really nice camera - just bought 3 new ones for a new property I will be hunting this coming season!

To me the red40 has a quicker "blip" of the red flash and dont spook deer nearly as much as my other redflash models.

Where you plan on buying a Covert?

I was thinking of the mp6 black for myself. Invisible flash and a low price tag. Not as good as the black 60, but im sure its still a very good camera

I've been comparing online prices and they're much cheaper than if you buy from Covert directly. But I will probably get it through The Sportsman's Guide, I'm considering becoming a member and they seem to have the best prices with a bunch of promos
