They are great...but for me price to a point just gets to be too much. Don't get me wrong if I didn't blink at dropping that kind of money for a camera I'd buy them all the time. To me the higher line of Coverts are way more of a value in that you get so much more than what you pay for.

It's one thing to get what you pay for (which is a slogan lot of high dollar companies or backers say) however in my opinion I like to get a higher return than the value :) Covert's are affordable yet produce great pictures!

Reconyx is a top of the line camera and does have great customer service - they will last and perform very well in just about all conditions. Covert is what I would go with for the money stand point and Great C.S. as well, but if you can afford the Reconyx you won't be disappointed. One thing is they keep thier cameras lower megapixels for increased speed, less nighttime motion blur and consistancy but for scouting pics they do very well. Coverts will get you more pics that you could frame. BTW the Reconyx HC500 and HC600 (and next years HC700 in the works now) are assembled right here in Ironwood. Friend of mine(actually my camp partners cousin) who hunts from the neighboring deer camp works there(Burton Industries) and has one of each model - he swears by them...there are quite a few die-hard fans of Reconyx out there and I have heard virtually nothing in the way of naysayers except for the pricetag(thats a pretty big hit if stolen or crunched by a bear).

I have used half a dozen different cameras over the years and currently have 10 cameras in my fleet, mostly Cuddeback Capture's (I have 2 of them to send in under warranty tomorrow) I bought a Reconyx 600 early summer and this is by far the best cam I have ever used, great pics, great sensitivity and distance, and awesome battery life. Expensive, yes but super high quality.
