Okay guys, as some of you know, I had to send back my Reconyx RC 60 for repairs as the left half of the daytime/color photos was very blurry. Getting ahold of Reconyx was a breeze and they kept me updated through the process of asking about the problems I was having, through what the problem could be, and with shipping the camera in for repairs.

Here is where I think Reconyx stands out (and WELL ABOVE) any other manf. out there. I recieved an e-mail when they recieved my camera which has a link to updates on what is going on with my camera. This is alot like any tracking number for shipping an item except this lets you know that they recieved your camera, what stage of testing or repairs the unit it is, and they will notify you of when the camera is shipped back with a tracking number.

I know that I brag up Reconyx alot on here (as well as a few other guys), and I also know that most guys complain about how they just can't afford one of these units..... trust me, I am not loaded with cash and this has been by far the best investment in a trail camera that I have made. I have went through literally dozens of cameras, spent thousands of dollars, and had more grief dealing with some manf. customer service than any one person should. Reconyx cameras not only perform EXACTLY how they should in the field, but they stand behind their product and have the best customer service in the industry. Take into account battery costs, and repair costs, and I can honestly say that my Reconyx has saved me money even when compared to Cuddebacks, Stealth Cams, Moultries, TrailMacs, ect. The intial price is definetly high, but when you are spending about $12 a year on batteries with the camera seeing the field 365 days.... the savings start to add up quick.

I realize some would say we are fanboys when it comes to Reconyx but your experience with their customer service is exactly why I always have positive things to say about them. Everything is great with any company until you have a problem and then that's where the rubber meets the road. Reconyx definately exceeds your expectations when you need them.

    Blessings.....Pastorjim

I feel the same way every time I brag these camera's up but Jason hit the nail on the head. When your not replacing camera's here and there your saving money. You very much so get what you pay for when getting a trail cam In most cases. Specially the 100 to 125 dollar cams.

They probably are the highest quality unit out there, but that comes with a price....I realize you get what you pay for, I just personally feel there is a price point at which it becomes a negating factor for me to need any better quality. 1100 bucks buys you two Reconyx cams....reliable, long lasting, etc...But I only have two cameras in the woods.

That same 1100 will buy me 6 extremely nice but better priced cams (see Covert, Bushnell, HCO) for examples...Sure I may have to replace one every few years, but in the mean time I have 6 cameras in the woods and for replacement costs to even up I would have to replace 3 of these cams to every 1 reconyx...they may be better, but I doubt the failure rate is THAT much lower.

Anyway, there are a lot of great cams out there, but no one cam does it all for people....If you dont need higher numbers of cams to spread around and want top notch quality, that is the cam for you...It just doesnt serve my purpose of needing cams to cover multiple areas.

On a side note, Customer service is great to hear about! A safe bet is to stay away from the huge companies (CS Nightmares) and stick with lower volume companies aimed at pleasing every customer, rather than gaining hoards of new ones.

Hope your cam gets back out there and starts taking those awesome photos that earned it the price point its sold at. Amazing unit from the looks of it, (has anyone EVER read a negative review on them?)

That one word is music to my ears......While the Reconyx manufacturing facility is only 20 minutes from my house I can say they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I am not friends with the owners or anyone who works there but will say they treat everyone the same; they remember the customers build the business not the workers. Customers get the reward with better cameras and service than anyother security/trail camera out there.

If money is a problem, try ebay. I can guarantee buying one of the Reconyx cameras won't be your last.
