Well guys, I e-mailed Reconyx last night about the problem I have had with my RC60 as of late. I explained what has been happening with picture quality and I also let them know that the camera was purchased Jan.1, 2009 (so it is out of warranty). I recieved an e-mail from them this morning and they let me know of several things that could be wrong. Justin from Reconyx said that it sounds like the lens filter holder may have a problem.... he then informed me that if thats the problem they will replace it free of charge, even with the camera being out of warranty. This is the third time that I have contacted Reconyx customer service, once with a question on camera operation and twice with problems. They have always replied in a very timely manner and have always taken care of their customers. I know that alot of guys worry about spending so much coin on a game camera, but atleast with Reconyx.... if you have a problem they will take care of it. I have dealt with so many other game camera companies and it is usually a lost cause. Its refreshing to have a company that is willing to back their product, even when they don't have to!
Thats awesome news! I've found that a lot of "outdoorsy" companies have great customer service. Glad to hear you're getting it fixed.
Another Reconyx CS story. When I purchased my RC55 a couple of years ago, I bought it from a guy that makes security boxes for Reconyx. In essence, the camera was used. When I got it, it would take pics but when you put the card in the computer, it said file error. I tried several different cards, all with the same result. Reconyx spent several hours on the phone with me trying to resolve the issue. They finally advised me to send it in. This camera was in no way under warranty, and they knew it. Yet, they repaired the camera and even shipped it back to me at no charge. It is absolutely great to see a company stand behind their product in this way. I know they are more expensive than alot of other units out there, but in this case, you definately get what you pay for. Blessings.....Pastorjim
