I'm looking for some recommendations on an external monitor setup for my Canon G20. I'm left handed and tired of struggling to see the viewer. It will need to mount to a universal cold shoe I would imagine

What about the Ikan VK7i? Seems to be very comparable to others and often gets really good reviews. It also seems to be more economical then some.... I don't have one but have looked at getting one a number of times.

Check out the Blackmagic Video Assist. It looks to be a pretty solid monitor, and with the firmware update it will have most of the features we need like peaking. In addition to being a monitor, it is also a 1080p recorder so you can have a secondary recording. It records in ProRes at a much higher bit rate than the G20 does with it's compression. For what we do, it's not necessarily needed, but it''s a pretty cheap option that actually has a 1920X1080 screen resolution. Most monitors are not in a true HD resolution.

I'm considering getting one of these myself.
