Thinking about getting an arm guard to take my baggy hunting jacket and to tighten them up around my arm so I know my string won't hit the jacket. Figure if I strap an arm guard on tight it will keep it out of the way. I want something that will strap on quickly and easily. Or any ideas on other alternatives? (To clarify, this is not a grip problem, DL problem or not enough bend in my arm problem. This is a baggy jacket problem) Thoughts?
How about a jacket that is less baggy? On a serious note I use this http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/Ez-Arm-Guard__9994NC.aspx
Ha! You know Phillip.... we have actual "cold weather" up here. Not like your "semi-cold weather" down there. :p I know...... I like my cold weather gear to be very baggy so A. I can adjust the amount of clothes I put underneath to suit the temps and only have one jacket and B. To utilize air as an insulator. Keeps me much warmer. Anyways, back to the guard. What is that thing? Is it like a sock type guard that just fits over you arm with no straps? Is it taught enough to hold my jacket tight? Why did you select that over a strap model? (I'm pleading total ignorance)
Cold weather? We have cold weather too! It gets "ALL" the way down to the teens here in the winter! :p (I can hear you laughing at my low temps now. ) You'd probably head out in shorts down here during our cold weather. Now to the serious part, I picked that up because I wanted something that I didn't have to worry about strapping or had to velcro down. It is a sock type of deal and I have had no trouble with it keeping my big coat out of the way. It will stretch out a little over time. Its the only thing I have any experience with in regards to arm guards. I have heard of some guys just using a big rubber band to keep the coat back.
you could save some money and use a rubber band or two, or a sock. these are 2 cheep and quick ways to clear the string from your sleeve. good luck
