Well my season is over for elk. We got three cow elk out of six tags. The young lady with the big bull tag missed twice but had a great experience with some beautiful elk. If you have ever had elk yelling at you and thrashing the trees and brush around ya you know what I am talking about. We had a first bow killed elk by a cousin in law. I think he is hooked It was one of the wettest elk hunts I have had for a while. I hunted for 14 days and all but one day it didn't rain at all. I think I ruined my old gortex boots. I may not have got an elk this year but I got my deer and was blessed for being able to spend time in the mountains with my sons and family. I know I have posted some of these pictures on other threads but here ya go.
Looks like an awesome season to me OC! My only regret about this elk season is that I don't live closer to the Rockies!
Slugger that's my son messing around. The elk was a little over 2 miles in. So he told me he was going to mark his spot.
We were. We had a few bulls going on some days for a couple hours. I just felt bad for the young lady. She tried pretty hard
Looks like you all had a great time. I can't wait to get on the road. I'll be pulling out Wednesday night!
I'm only at 25% now. Hope it starts swinging upward from here on out. Great season OC. Gong rats again on that big Muley.
Just perfect, plenty of meat and memories, good job sticking it out in the rain, and I guarantee he is hooked now.
I think we got him. Are bow hunt ends in middle of September. He called me and wants to shoot the bows and do a little fishing
It took one campfire last season and I was in it to win it, .. seeing mulleys in my sleep.. Take him shootin'
