Hey, I'm almost a little embarrassed to ask this but I'm going to do it anyway. My bow is realtree extra green... I'm going to buy an Apex carbon core 7" stabilizer and a 10" sidebar They come in "realtree extra" or black... Like I said, my bow is realtree extra green with a few bright green accessories (peep, string silencers, and trim on the limbsavers and such) Like I said, I feel a little stupid asking about "color coordinating" my bow but how off would the just extra look if at all or should I just go black.. Any help or suggestions are welcome as always.
I myself like to match, but it's really what you personally think. Overall I doubt the deer will notice.
I heard it said, that black is the new camo and I'm starting think my next bow will be blacked out. For the most part anyway...
Call me chick-like but I prefer my camo to match as well. I would go black before I put mismatched camo on my bow. Maybe it's an OCD thing but that drives me insane.
Henry Ford got one thing right when he said................................ "You can have any color you want as long as it is black!"
Matching camo is super important to some people. To me my choice in camo is................ WHAT'S ON SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went with the 10" sidebar in black. I wanted something to help offset the weight of the quiver and give me more weight out front. I think this will give me both or at least more then I'm getting with the stock 6" stabilizer that came with the bow. Should see it next week.
Thats why not a single piece of my camo matches. The only camo i ever bought at full price was my sitka pants and that was because i had more gift cards to cabelas than i knew what to do with. Here in NJ i buy most of my camo at TJ Max, yes that TJ Max that your mom shops at. Bought UA pants and shirts for more than half off original price.
I ordered a stab in " Realtree APG" to match my bow, however what was delivered was the "Realtree AP". I was disappointed since I was building a brand new bow, but after installing it its such a small part you can't even notice the lack of "G". Its not like buying a shirt in APG and pants in AP which is more noticeable. But as noted above I generally buy by sale and mix and match my camo.
Buy any color and take it to your local hydrographics shop and have them dip it in real tree extra green Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The only 2 bows I've owned so far to date were both camo. One Mossy Oak and the BTX now is Realtree Xtra Green. I've found that even though you might buy accessories that are Realtree Xtra or Realtree Xtra green, it may not be exactly the same. And sometimes it's hard to find the product you want in a specific camo pattern. I think the Xtra will be fine but just depends on how picky you are. Black will never go out of style and I think my next bow will not be camo for this reason.
