Lets see. I watched Joe write the song. I watched him play and sing it for the publishing rep. I saw the check he received for selling it. And then I watched Vince on TV claim it as his own. Yes, that makes Vince a liar and makes you look foolish.

My eyes were my proof. Yours?

I know it hurts you to the core to be wrong. Hope you can get over it. But, I really dont care.

    Easy, Scott.

Even with the kid, I'm still not sure you're over Mo.

Thanks. I wrote most of their songs.

I don't have a dog in the country music fight. I think it's all garbage. Fletch, you don't have to prove anything to anybody on here. I don't think you would have any reason to lie about it. If you didn't know by now, Jeff is a scientist, music expert, politician and what he doesn't know God tells him directly.

Easy Redna. Just because I fiigured out that weather has been around since before 1879, you don't have to refer to me as an "expert". I'll get a complex.

Thanks. I was just relaying a unique experience that I had over 20 years ago. I didnt realise it was going to ruffle any feathers. Too bad.

Sorry Jeff, but to call bs on something that I passed along as first hand witness is the same as calling me a liar. Everyone here knows it, and most of us werent surprised.

Don't be a drama queen. It's really not that big of a deal.

And, stop acting like I should care. I don't. I've been around long enough that when my BS meter pegs, I acknowledge it.

Funny, you are the one that called bs from the start. Did you care? If not, why post?

By the way, your BS meter is as flawed as your character.

There is no bromance between MO and I.... I am just in awe that one man can be so badass..... After he drank the funkshake, he could see around corners and such.... No way can Vince or Brett top that

    Well, ya got me, there.....lol.

Character? Because I don't believe a story about a guy and his college buddy sitting around eatin' cheetos ....and his buddy writing a song that goes #3 on the billboard charts for another artist (future country music legend).....who cuts him out of the real money on the deal....then lies about writing the song, himself?

I'd consider it a character flaw if I DID believe that.

Let's try and stay on course in this topic please. Thanks gents.

Happens all the time. You dont have to believe it, but its reality. Confused you are indeed. There is in fact a difference between a story and real life events. Enjoy your fairytale, the one you get to write as you go. lol

Those that know me, know I dont have to lie to make impressions. Your character flaws have been well exposed. This is far from the first time.

Wonder why they even have song writers? Apparently they arent necessary? By the way, I went turkey hunting in Mississippi and met a gentleman that has made a living writing country songs for many artists that claim them as their own. But, you dont have to believe that either. You are a legend in your own mind.

Hey, I'm not the one claiming musical near-stardom gone awry via a cheeto-induced, songwriting euphoric state of creative genius. A legend, I am not!

I'd still like to know his name. I wanna party with that guy.

Jeff, can you prove to us you played golf with Vince. Sounds a little far fetched to me. You got any pictures or anything? Just asking.......

I worked at Quail Hollow CC in Charlotte, NC (home of the Wachovia Championship and old home of the Kemper Open) with Craig Rudolph. Craig played the Tour in (I think) 1991. His dad is Mason Rudolph. Mason played the Tour for many years. Craig and I went to Nashville on a golf trip (probably 1994). Mason was coaching the Vanderbilt team at the time. Chance meeting, while we were visiting his dad (meeting Vince). When Vince played a concert in Charlotte, he played QH while he was in town (with Craig). Really....not a big deal. If I took photos of every famous person that came through QH's gates....well...that's kinda why there is a QH. That would be very frowned upon. But, I've met plenty sports stars (we hosted the '94 NCAA Final Four in Clt. in '94, I think); We had a lot of NFL folks coming through as the Panthers were being molded. We started an ECHL hockey franchise in Clt., during this time; We had a current PGA Tour player as a member (Jay Haas); we had 2 former presidents come through; We had 3 members who owned 7 NASCAR Winston Cup teams; and, Clinton's chief of staff was a member, there. Believe me, Vince Gill didn't rank very high on the wow factor, in this company. My buddy Craig died, when Rick Hendrick and Felix Sabates helicopter went down in (I think 1997). They were on their way back from CMS (after a race) and no one survived.

It's not so hard to provide details. And, I'm not claiming to be best buds with the guy. When my friend Dave (who lives in Danville, VA) said he could get us backstage, I took him up on it. Good times.

I'm not claiming to be best buds with the guy. I just don't see him lying about writing a song. I know for a fact many people buy and sell songs. I just don't see someone of his stature/respected place in music history.......fabricating a lie about a song. When you've written classics that'll go down in history......why would you fabricate a story about THAT song?

Forgive me for being (extremely) skeptical. And, I also don't care whether anyone believes what I say, here.

Sounds convincing. The way I see it is just about anyone will say anything for money. People of that stature too. When you own full rights to a song who is going to believe some regular Joe who comes out and says they wrote it? No one and they can't for that matter. Has Vince ever wrote a song that someone else has recorded? Wouldn't know without looking it up. Hell....Jamey Johnson has written more number one hits for more people than he ever probably will for himself. I'm pretty sure George Straight, Toby Keith, and Trace Adkins appreciates Jamey's song writing skills. That's another guy (George) whom I doubt has wrote very many songs. He usually get them thrown at him and buys them up.

Regular people write number one hits all the time. I just don't know why you find it hard to believe. Shoot....one of the best songs (Amazing Grace) was written by a homeless man who had just lost his whole family in the sinking of a boat. Don't doubt the regular guy, Jeff. I think that is all we are saying.

and on another note, most of the songs your have heard for the past 20 years in country music have been written by songwriters. People who you will more than likely never hear of, that will more than likely never get the credit they deserve. I just had an offer on coupla my songs, but i want my name to be my own. thats not the way some people think :)
