As Im sitting here at the airport getting ready to fly back to work in Guam I have to say I got quite a bit done while I was home...I got all my trail cameras up and started seeing some does and fawns and saw quite a few deer and lots of tracks around which is real encouraging for the hard cold winter we had here in the Adirondacks... Right before I left my logger came down and worked up an area that I wanted to put a food plot in with his mini-X...Not surprised there was lots of "Adirondack potatoes" (rocks) but the soil looked pretty good...We are going to have rain for the next few days so I got the seed right in and now just praying something comes up while I am away... Cant wait for my return in Oct for the end of Bow season...Ill hopefully get 2 weeks of hunting in before gun season...
It is very likely you have low PH in those soils considering the amount of ferns. Might want to think about a soil test and some lime.
Unfortunately ally this was a last minute thing...I'm en route out of country until Oct so whatever happens I have to live with...at least it's clear for next year... I have a mixture of things in it...One was from Bio - logic and another blend from Wildlife Institute...I don't remember all the ingrediants...sorry.
