I've been looking at topographic maps and also just using Google Earth and I wanted some insight as to where a good stand location would be. I've had a hard time identifying potential stand locations so any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Season is roughly 1 month away and I'm pumped. Bowhunt or Die.

Where's the topo? Generally bedding areas are on the tips of points 1/3 of the way down from the highest elevation. They also bed a lot in transition areas. Check out the "Hill Country Bucks" DVD, it's really good. Also, you can use mapper.acme.com to alternate between satellite and topo maps.

A topo is needed for this area and maybe a better google image of the land you plan on hunting. Its very tough to see what is what in that picture.

If the darker areas are trees and light is field it looks like there are some potential funnels throughout that image. That would be good place to sit during the rut. Is there any plots or food source close by? Also looks like a fence row on the East side? Check that out as well.

Again, a better image would help a lot or give us the location of where youre at.

Redz is right about the "Hills country bucks." Has a lot of valuable information in there. Check it out.

The other question, in addition to the above, is property lines...where are they?

The pic is very difficult to see...looks fairly flat and featureless, but I could be way off. It looks like a fenceline on the right side of the pic with some small bushes/cedars or similar. The left side of the pics darker colors would seem to imply more/thicker vegetation possibly implying water or mast.

Where is water, bedding and food sources relative to the pic?
