    Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good Archery stores and gear shops around New York?

I'm headed there this winter around Manhatten and wanted to kit up.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Thanks from a Newbie!

Lancaster Archery in Lancaster, PA may be worth the drive once in a while but it may be far for the home-base shop. Where are you coming from?

    Hey Rob,

I'm sailing over from Europe straight to New York so I won't be stopping anywhere on the way apart from Bermuda maybe! Should be arriving in around 2 - 3 weeks.

But once i'm in New York I dont mind driving to a place which has a decent set up.

Thank you for your help Rob, I'll give them a go once i'm there!

I would honesty have to say there probably aren't any in manhattan just because the people who would visit is very limited you would either need to come down to long island or go up into westchester

I thought as much in Manhatten.

If you have any to recommend in Long Island I don't mind travelling to find one?

I figured as much from the "kit up". (We gear up over here.) Where from in Europe?

Westchester Cnty. just north of the city is bowhunting only. It's mostly private land but the deer do enough destruction to expensive cars and ornamental plants up there that it's not as hard as you might think to get hunting permission. There are a few public land spots there as well. I suggest getting in with Westchester Bowhunters; http://www.westchesterbowhunters.com/index.php They have some shooting opportunities up there and can hook you up with shops, ranges and hunting in the area.

When you talk to the president (Doug) tell him I sent you. He'll flip out.

    Hey Rob,

I'm from the UK which as you know doesn't allow hunting with bows!

I've shot alot with compund bows, competitions and such but never game.

I'm sailing over to New York and will based there for most of the winter.

Just looking at setting myself up with a hunting bow and set up and getting sorted in the range before I venture out if i'm allowed.

Thank you for your help and the information about Westchester. I'll hit them up for sure.

    Cheers Rob!!
