I've been a long time believer in rattling in the early season and it has produced some great encounters for me. Starting mid Oct. though, I do not believe in rattling at deer seen in the distance as only a few of them will venture your way. The best bet in those situations is to use a buck roar as it will bring most of them your way. I also think that hunters should put more thought into "where They rattle from" if they want to see an increase in success with their rattling. It is always best to have some sort of terrain feature, down wind of where you are rattling, that will prevent bucks from circling and scenting you. Great read though!
