Well I tried for the first time this season, rattling near my big 7x7 bucks bedding area this evening. I got a response but from the wrong buck.. a 2.5 year old 4x4 came in on a string.. critters are starting to move and respond a bit here, should be a great weekend of hunting with the low pressure moving in, I have the next two, 3 day weekends off.

Pretty cool Troy. I got a nice 130 class 8 (4x4 to you) to come in after rattling last Sunday, but a miscue on Kim's behalf turned out a clean miss. Hopefully they'll still be responsive this weekend even with the temps being a little warm.

I just did a sparring session... its still early out here.. rut (breeding) is about 2 weeks behind you guys in the midwest.. this guy was next to me with in 5 minutes.. I was holed up in a big blowed down root wad on the ground.. pretty cool he came in at eye level and looked and looked right through me. I am freeging impressed with this predator camo.. I had the facemask on tonight too. this buck walked/ paced back and forth at between 20 and 30 yards looking for the two bucks he heard.. lol ( I did a little bit of grunting in the sparring sequence too.) Things should start poppin this week and next.

Good to hear. I told Dubbya ealier today that I think this weekend would be a great time to break out the antlers and make a little noise.
