Best season I've ever had for several reasons, not just because of the deer I was fortunate enough to take.

Most of you know by now this was my first season hunting the Midwest. I managed to take my #1 and #2 biggest bucks. While I'm thankful for those opportunities, what was most satisfying about it is that I learned a lot and did it on my own. I find it a LOT more satisfying to kill a specific deer based on it's bedding pattern than getting lucky during the rut on a cruising deer. The first deer I killed this year was exactly that, and while I've made this work in the past back in NY/PA it's never been on a 4.5 y/o deer and certainly not a 140"+ deer.

Since I'm tagged out in IL and seem to have luck on my side this year, I'm going to try an see if I can apply what I learned here back home and get it done again. I'm headed back to hunt NY next week for 4 days, hopefully I can get it done again.

I hunt in SW Pa and NE Ohio. I took a doe the first day of the Ohio season (9-27) and a buck the next to last day of the Pa season (11-14). I still have a Pa doe tag and an Ohio buck tag but I am not sure how much more I will be able to get out this year.

I'd say fair just based on the fact that I've not had much time to hunt this year like I did last year. I took one doe so far while I did have some decent time to hunt and passed up five bucks waiting for Mr. Big. Only fair because of my limited time...what time I spent was in the "good" category.

Been a great year for me here in MD. I've taken three does with the bow, two with the ML and a nice 10 pt with the bow on 11/11. Tomorrow starts firearms here and me and my 10 year old son will be in the blind trying to get him a deer.

It's been a good year so far. I took two does in Oklahoma and still have a buck tag. I passed over 20 bucks total in Wyoming, Texas and Oklahoma so I have no complaints. Still have lots of hunting season left so who knows what will happen.

Fantastic. Only had one weekend to hunt but put down my target eight point on the last day.

So far it's been pretty good. Have seen lots of bucks, one real nice one at 25 yards that didn't get shot at that is really my only regret so far. Taken 3 deer so far and could of probably had 4 or 5 more. Sitting at 2 does and a small 8 point buck. Late season should be good too with all the rye, turnips and radishes that got planted as a cover crop in the corn and bean fields.

So overall good year so far.

And the biggest deer I've ever had on trail cam made it through one firearm season so if he makes it through another that'll make it even better.

My deer season has been excellent. I killed my #1 hitlister and highest gross scoring buck ever, 168-3/8". My 11 year old son took his biggest buck, a 3.5 year old 115-incher. I still have my IL archery tag and hope wrap it around a good buck.

New York. I've shot two does. And I shot my first buck this year he was a big spike. 9 and 11 inch spikes. Then I missed on a 4 point.

SW Pa & SE Ohio-Mixed season. I spent a lot of days with no deer sightings. But I really can't say its been a bad year, because the few times I have seen deer it has come with big payoffs. 2 nice bucks and 3 does.
