Very nice! I highly recommend his new album, "Townes". LOL He didn't write any of the songs but the guy that did wrote the music also :D . He's not country but another guy, Ray LaMontagne, writes and sings some interesting music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrZkaj37kA0
Does anyone just listen to music and not care who wrote the flippin song or what "genre" the record labels arbitrarily placed the song/artist/singer in? We argue some really petty stuff, but this gotta take the *bleepin* cake.
I've kept up with entire thread the whole way through. If you want to know how to fix this problem of not being song writers/not playing instruments, two words: Texas Country
And I could care less that you posted about caring less about who wrote the song...:D Sorry, I'm a little silly tonight for some reason...
Willie Nelson --- writes his own stuff. Charlie Daniels --- writes his own stuff. Alan Jackson --- writes his own stuff. Vince Gill --- writes his own stuff. All the other "artists" are just a cheap marketing ploy by Nashville. I can't stand Rascal Flatts, and that absolutely horrible, wickedly twangy, singer in that band Sugarland! Give me some good old rock and roll and better yet, some southern rock. Shout it out with me... "FREEBIRD!!!!" :D
Just for the record, I threw something at my TV when those guys won an award last night over Zac Brown. Between them and that Adam Lambert dude this world is going to hell in a handbasket.
GOOD gosh they are terrible. And I mean terrible. It is like listening to some countryfriend version of Richard Simmons. What do you they stand for in their music?.......I mean really. For some reason this song has really grown on me lately...."copperhead road" by steve earle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc86_Weoye0
Thought I posted on this, but I guess not. Yall need to get i tunes or limewire that way you can download the real songs and skip all the pop country bull on the radio today. I stick with Eric Church, Rhett Akins, Jamey Johnson, Colt Ford, old McGraw, David Allan Coe, and Alan Jackson, and of course the classic Skynard, Cash, and Willie. OCMS is also good stuff and Ive found my self listening to more Red Dirt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7gbtQSFz4Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeDM_aP4IJc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYYw_9thYyY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBqZs7oGPZQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gX1EP6mG-E
When i think of the worst country band the first thing that comes to mind is all of them who wants to cry in their beer when you can rock out with your c*ck out lol
You can't hate on Taylor Swift, she absolutely cleaned house this year. She IS talented. Some of her songs are more in the "pop" genre though. I absolutely CAN NOT STAND Rascal Flats either. Some of my favorites are; Jamey Johnson, Jason Aldean, Jason Michael Carrol (some songs), Blake Shelton (big fan), Craig Morgan (huge fan), Kenny Chesney (big fan as well), Montgomery Gentry, Eric Church, and hell I like Darius Rucker (sp?). I like a LOT of different genres and a lot of different artists, you would notice that by looking at my iTunes. I can listen to almost anything. My most played "country" songs on iTunes are: Jamey Johnson-In color Craig Morgan- Redneck Yacht Club Jason Michael Carrol- Where I'm from Kenny Chesney- Back Where I come from Montgomery Gentry- Something to be proud of Trent Tomlinson- One Wing in the Fire Just to name some.
