Looking at purchasing a new rangefinder and was wanting some opinions. I have some points to use with Cabela's, so I started looking online there. They have the Bushnell® Yardage Pro® Scout 1000 ARC Laser Rangefinder on sale right now, any thoughts on this? The other one I have in mind is the Nikon® 2013 Archer's Choice Rangefinder, which they also have marked down. I know many of you probably haven't used the new model of the Archer's choice yet but just looking at different choices. Also, how important is the ARC to you guys? Thanks for any info, jetter
Personally the ARC feature isnt that important to me. I don't know what your budget is but I have the Leupold RX-1000i and it is the cats meow. I convinced my now EX-gf to get it for me for christmas and now I get to keep it. I don't remember exactly how much it was but it is a very nice unit if you can swing the cost of it.
I have the original Archer's Choice and love it. I am thinking about buying the new one and giving my Dad my old one. The new one ranges a lot farther. I don't think you will go wrong with it or the Bushnell.
Between those two, I would prefer the Nikon. I am also in the market so been doing my research. The bushnell shows in big numbers actual distance then in smaller number at the bottom shows the range you should shoot for. The Nikon only shows the shoot at number in big print. I'm saving my money and getting a Nikon.
I have an old Nikon and love it... Works a lot better than the Bushnell I had before it and even better than my buddys Leopold.... I'm not going to just upgrade to upgrade but my next range finder with have the ARC feature for sure - but then I do a fair amount of spot and stalk hunting (and pretty much only archery hunt) in steep conditions so I think it would be worth it for me...
I just bought a nikon from cabelas for 230. on sale down from 279 and 5 dollar shipping with the promocode. also had a 25 dollar gift card. I paid 209. maybe this helps.
