i have been looking for a new rangefinder. I want one that can range long dinstances though due the majority of hunting i due is spot and stalk. The archers choice is out of the question for me. I was wondering if anyone has a longer range rangefinder. I was looking at the nikon 1200 monarch gold.
    Any thoughts guys?

I've got a Leica LRF 900. Spendy, but I love the red LED, very easy to see.

One of my buddies has a leica LRF 1200 and he has noticed problems with it ranging dark objects as well as objects in foggy/misty conditions. Have you had any of these issues Lefty?

i have a Leupold RX-1000 and love it, dead on everywhere, the red display works great at dawn and dusk. they make a great scope and that led me to their range finder, very happy that i went with Leupold

The rx 1000 is pretty basic too isn't it? i want to be able to press a button and have it figure out my range. Not deal with TBR or anything like that.

No issues what so ever with it. I've had it for 7 or 8 years. I need to buy another one as a back up, don't think I could use anything else after being spoiled by this one for so long.

the one i got doesn't have the tbr or any of that. just push the button once to turn it on or let it know your wanting to range something, pick your spot, click again and wahla. the are a few adjustments, but basically i fooled around with all the settings(think there is 3) and found what i wanted and haven't done anything since. very easy to use and dead nuts on
