I am also looking for a range finder to use for both bow and rifle hunting. i am looking in the $250or so price range. So far the models I am looking at are the Bushnell ARC1000, Nikon pro staff 550, and Leupold RX-600. any suggestions?
I have the Bushnell Arc1000. Comes with case and cleaning cloth. Ive had mine since the day they came out, because now you can get them in package deals(binock+knife) for the same price I paid. I havent ran into a situation where it wouldnt range something because it was too far. It has 5x mag and the eye piece adjust so the display will focus with your eye at whatever distance. Ive had to replace the battery once since Ive got it, it will last a long time. My only gripe is that when using ARC, the ARC yardage is the smaller one on the display. I wish they were swapped. And Ive also ran into situations with low light, I can see the deer through the range finder with no problem, its reading the display thats the problem. I have to point the range finder to the sky so I can read it just beore I draw my bow. They need a display that lights up and not a "calculator" one.
has anyone else used the arc1000? that is what i am leaning toward right now, plus i get a pair of binocs too, which i am in the market for anyway, i dont know if theyre any good or not...
