There is this thing Al Gore created called the internet. You probably think Terry Bradshaw was a top 5 quarterback too right? LOL
Moss spent the majority of his years with the Vikes. The Vikes didn't come close to throwing the ball 40 times a game. I watched him every Sunday for years. He was awesome to watch when he put In the effort. Just when you thought he was at full speed going down the sidelines he'd turn It up and blow away ANY cb In the league. It was something else.
To end this debate...i watched Randy Moss in his twilight beat Derelle Revis in his prime. /thread. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
I see someone beat me to it, but the Vikings were not even throwing it 40 times per game when Moss was there. I believe you are letting your dislike of the man get in the way of your view of the football player...or Siman is right and you don't know football.
In 2004 the Minnesota Vikings threw an average of 34.8 times per game. Not quite 40 but that would qualify as close.
Haha He was 2nd string to Phil Robertson (duck dynasty) At Louisiana Tech. If Phil didnt stop playing to hunt more. Who knows what the game would look like and if Bradshaw would be were he is today.
Did I say I disliked him somewhere? He didn't play for Bama or Georgia so I have no reason to dislike him.
All I really meant (I worded poorly ) is Moss was a greater deep threat in his prime than Johnson or anyone else that has played IMO. I also think Calvin Johson still has a lot more to do is his career to get higher on the all time list than Moss. Johnson does seem to be on his way to becoming an all time great...but he still needs to do it
I assumed based of your crazy position that you didn't like him, so you're saying Siman is right then.
His attitude at times limited him, but I dont know of any other WR that could single handedly change a game the way he could. Even if he wasn't catching a ball deep, he changed defenses like no one else in that all defenses would have to scheme to prevent Moss from burning them deep, leaving the the underneath passes wide open. There is no stat for the way he changed how teams had to play the Vikings. I truely think the media made him into more of a whiner or selfish player than he really was.
Dont give him too much credit. He was a punk for sure. Remember the Florida State thing? Or when he hit that cop with his car? Or admitted smoking dope? Or mooned the Packers fans? Or left the field early? Still the 2nd best ever.
He never mooned the Packer fans, but you couldn't tell Joe Buck that! Straight cash Homey.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dmqGg6Ccvw
When people argue about one millionaire being better than another millionaire, I just laugh and die a little inside.
I can not put him ahead of Rice because of the BS he pulled. I would put him at number 2 though and he played with a crappy QB compared to the rest of the top 5.
I'll watch college football and the occasional NY Giants game, but I doubt I watch more than 10 hrs of sporting events a year. NY Yankees? No thanks, disgusting how much cash teams pay out and the fans are just as stupid for paying over $50 for a game and $12 for a Budweiser. The only real sport I'm guilty of getting into is the NHL, but I still don't who half the players are... I'd rather spend my time going out and enjoying life and spend my money on good food and cool stuff.
Talking about speed and then about Jerry Rice really doesn't help your argument. Jerry Rice was an incredible route runner but speed wasn't his best attribute.
