I had a 3d shoot last Sunday and run my rampage xt through the chrono. It only shot 244 GPS. I'm shooting 55 pds weight 28 inch length carbon express mayhem 350 with 100 gr heads at 28 inches long. Anyone have any recommendations on some arrows that would get me up to 270-280 GPS and still be a good hunting arrow. I can draw more weight but am more accurate with 55 pds for cold mornings and sitting shooting. I'm getting into 3d and want a little more speed. I'm splined a little stiff now but it broad head tuned well. Thanks O
I looked up the Carbon Express shaft selector chart because I too have a 28" draw and you are definately shooting too stiff of a spine. I would recomend shooting the Carbon Express Blue Streaks 250s. Awesome shaft and much lighter than what you are shooting. Should even tune better for you. Have a pro shop cut the arrows for your bow. They can glue the inserts in for you as well. Should be shooting upwards of 270 realistically. If you could work up to 60# through the summer you may get a little more speed. Good Luck. Trevor
I ended up ordering Gold Tip velocity hunter 400 bare shaft. A good bit lighter half the price of my mayhems. Spine should be better. Im gonna wrap them and put orange and black blazers on them. Blue Streaks were too high. Im getting into 3d but want a hunting arrow too. My daughter shoots velocity hunter 500 and they are tough. Ima give em a try if they dont work ill sell them.
