Honestly I like it better, no thinking about what to eat and I actually save a lot of money by packing my own lunch every day. Clean sandwich and whatever fruits/veggies you like best and you will be set. I sometimes pack individual peanut butter/hummus/ranch cups to make the fruits/veggies more palatable. in 6 months I lost 30 lbs before I hovered around the same mark all summer (beer will get you every time lol). Looking to shed another 7-8 lbs and a simple, clean diet with minimal changes in exercise will get me there. NOW, back to your regularly scheduled programing about High Blood Pressure in a pouch. lol
On one of my deployments I made a concoction of chicken flavored ramen, easy Mac, and the little packages of chicken breast meat. It was pretty tasty, might not have been so good if other options were available.
Used to crush ramen a few years ago. It was too easy to throw in a pack for lunch and be done with it. Now a simple turkey sandwich and an apple is all I do. Still cheap, healthier, and after a while you get used to not eating as much junk.
I drink 1-2 beers nearly daily and the occasional night out every week or two of too many beers to count. I run 3-4 miles 3x week and do a P90x disc or head to the gym the days in between to mix it up. Nothing too rigorous, 45mins to an hour a day is all. I'm not looking to get big just shed fat.
