I really like the looks of the Bloodrunner and the fact that if it doesn't open it still has a 1'' cut diameter.
Shot the Bloodrunners last year and made a shot on a doe it was a lil far back and the doe only traveled about 70 yards.
Thanks for everyone's input. I'm going with the NAP BloodRunner. I've done made my bed and I'll sleep in it.
I was wondering the capability of this product as well. I went to the link provided and I can honestly say that I am sold. I will be sporting the blood runners this archery season!!!
I looked really, really hard at the RamCats by Fulton Precsion Archery. I think that they would have been a great choice as well. Good Luck this season.
Was talking broadheads with the guy at the shop today, asked about the bloodrunners, and he said the 2-blades didn't fly as good as the 3-blade ones. Haven't tried either of them, anyone noticed that?
I got mine at Scheels in Iowa City. Check in our store (bowhunting.com). They may have the practice heads. If not, you can buy from NAP's website.
I bought a package of the 2 blades this weekend. They are a MEAN looking head. I can't wait to try them out. The reviews are all solid. I think any review you read about a broadhead not flying right it is 99% of the time it is the shooters/tuners fault and not the head.
We shot the 2 blade blood runner the only problems I have with them is the do not fully open and they seem to make a bit more noise. The largest cut we measured was only 1 1/4". Still a great cut but over all for a mech blade try the f-15 dual blade. Serious damage. I had one blade break but the flight and cut are really sweet. I use to shoot the "Rage 2 blade" couldn't keep them closed then they re made them and will swap them out for you. But the F-15 is my personal choice for the year.
Were you shooting the pratice head? Because the practice heads do not open they stay fixed and are 1 1/4". If you were using the "hunting heads" then I'm not sure because they should open more than 2 inches, I think 2 1/16 " to be exact. By the way the practice heads are kinda of a yellowish or dull gold color. The hunting heads are black.
brand new right out of the package BLACK 2 blade blood runner. If you shoot them just listen close and you will hear a whistle. Also we shot them thru heavy weight paper to dbl check and they stayed the same. I believe it has to do with the springs tension. BY the way the width of the practice tip that I have is only an 1 1/16". The working heads are supposed to gain an 1" on impact. ( no pun intended there lmao) The key is shoot what you shoot best and what your bow is tuned for. I learned my lesson playing with my arrows to try to gain a little speed now I need new arrows.
[QUOTEBY the way the width of the practice tip that I have is only an 1 1/16".QUOTE] Oh, your right 1 1/16 not 1 1/4 as I indicated. Sorry, my bad. Anyways, thanks for your input.
you might want to check your state hunting laws about that broad head i heard that they are considered to have springs and that is illegal in some states but im not 100% sure
