A few years ago, I got one of my grandsons started hunting. Squirrel season for starters. Followed this with gun season a couple of times as school and baseball figured in the calendar. Two years ago, he took his hard-earned money and bought a Bear RTH outfit. We got it set up at the indoor range at my club. He is now hunting on his girlfriend's grandfather's farm. Our daughter told my wife that he saw some does and a nice buck. I followed up with a text- remember his hunter education class that I sponsored, take your time and shoot only when you are sure of the shot. He texted back that he saw some does and passed on a shot for the buck. This is what made me feel good- he passed on the shot as he wasn't confident it would be an ethical shot. Note the word, ethical. How's that for a "feel good" moment?
