Planning on getting in a few hunts this coming weekend, but the weather states 10 mph winds, rain off and on and of course extremely cold.. Will this be a bad time for deer walking or should my chances increase?
Well right now it is 10 PM and it is at the freezing mark. It is suppoed to be in the low twenties and on into the teens the rest of the week/weekend...couple that with the humidity and ask a few guys on here from up north and out west who have ventured into our "cold" how bad it is...
They'll be moving like crazy and you'll be able to hear them coming from a mile away. Picture walking on corn flakes... Even a soft, thin blooded southern boy should be able to kill deer in that kind of weather. (I kid!)
Hey, we take offense to that, it is not like you live in Alaska where it gets really cold, until you live there.....dang it
i've always been under the impression that one of the best times to be in your blind/stand is right after the rain stops. I could be wrong, of course, but i've always thought they bed down to ride out the rain, then bounce up and go foraging. If it were me, i'd tough out the cold rain so that i was there the very second they started moving
