I'm wondering how much this rain we're getting here in Pa right now might effect rut movement today? I nomally don't hunt in the rain because of what it can do to a blood trail, not to mention the noise. But available hunting days are few during the rut. Should I brave the weather and hope for a slam dunk shot at a buck? Would you hunt or sit it out? I have all of about 30 mins to make my mind up.

Get the heck out there! It's not raining hard enough for me to not be in the woods. If I could, I'd be hunting today.

One thing I have always noticed about a light drizzle or rain is that bucks seem more comfortable moving around. It can be a challenge to hunt though, everything's wet and quiet and you can't hear a deer coming. You have to keep your head on a swivel.

Thanks guys. Here in Mont/Del Co we're getting more than just light rain, it's been pretty heavy up until right now. I was referring to heavyer rain, but I totally agree on the "light" rain hunting. Anyway, I think I'll do what a serious whitetail hunter would do, and hit the woods!
