With scrapes starting to pop up everywhere, and a lot of rain coming this week across the central US(see graphic below) is it safe to say once the rain stops these scrapes will be worked hard to freshen them back up? Not sure if it works like that or not? If so thinking this weekend could be a great weekend to hunt the scrapes and potentially drop a good one. This is the preliminary 7 day precip total(subject to change of course, it is the weather). Should knock some leaves down as well
My trail cameras have always shown an increase in scrape activity after a rain. Not sure if it's the bucks wanting to get things fresh or just getting out and about once the rain stops. In any case, I would venture to say the next week things really start to pick up, rain or not.
I can't wait, rain all week and when it stops my vacation starts. Ground has been pretty dry of late, scrapes are a by hard to see but noticed a few. Trail cam is showing the young ones getting stupid. Had one sequence where three doe and 2 fawns came trough about 8:30, 8:45 three young bucks spike and goofies come in together and went same way as the does. 9:05 two of the does came back out and went back the way they originally came. Guessing they were harassed a bit. Could see some severe weather on Halloween so thinking I made a good call going ahead and working Halloween. Gonna be a long week at work
