The railroad worker told us we could get fined $10,000 dollars for walking down the tracks. Didn't matter if it was 100 yards or 10 feet. . Is there any truth to that or was he filling us full of bullchit ??? If illegal is the fine that steep ?? I know you can't hunt railroad's property on either side of the track although the guy said he could since he work for the railroad. I know you can't drive down the track with a vehicle. If it is illegal to walk down tracks... do you have to use a railroad crossing ( road or section line ) to cross tracks ?? In other words would it be illegal to walk across tracks in any spot?? Tim
"Railroad tracks, trestles, yards and equipment are private property and trespassers are subject to arrest and fine. Cross tracks ONLY at designated pedestrian or roadway crossings." "If you are in a rail yard uninvited, you are trespassing and subject to criminal prosecution. The worst penalty is death" (seriously??????) From: http://www.oli.org/education_resources/pedestrian_safety.htm Hey Tim, don't shoot the messenger! lol
