Don't make me any difference. Im neatural on this matter. haha. Tacklebox...fortune cookie is a dandy. Nice buck for sure.
Well when it comes to this kinda stuff I am. Now you not killin a 180 incher, it's not gonna go over as well lol
20 years of bowhunting whitetails and only one 180"+ on my wall to show for it. BUT I do have a couple more around, those big dudes don't make many mistakes.
I shot a 260"er last year with my bow... ...but since it was a bull elk they wouldn't let me enter it in contest Elk hunt again in late Sept this year...it's about all I can think about with how busy I am right now at work, 2 boys in football, girl in dance, and trying to finish a bathroom remodel for the wife. Also have a 3rd son who is 3 and just wants to go deerhunt with daddy this year so I need to make that happen also. My oldest who is now 10 will do his first shotgun youth hunt on Oct 11-12 this year...really looking forward to that. THEN...I'll finally get in the whitetail mindset for myself...weekends are jam packed, but will get some good days off during the rut. Always try to spend one all dayer on some public ground that I love hunting - 3000 acres of rugged timber, love spending the day hiding away from others there. Looking forward to sharing the season with everyone and especially the hunt reports and success photos! (don't forget two pics with bow/deer/you in them) GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THIS SEASON!!!
My season starts next week with a bear hunt, then I have a couple days to get my oldest daughter on a deer for youth season. My deer season opens 9/15. IF FC is still doing his routine I will hunt him early, otherwise I also have a honey do project to get wrapped up before the end of Sept. See how it goes from there. I don't expect much activity out of the big boys till Mid Oct.
No Tom was kind enough to get some bait going for me to hunt over. This will be my first time hunting bear over bait, I have always hunted NM spot n stalk or waterholes. 3 years of tag soup in NM for me on the bears so hoping the change of approach provides a change in results. Also hoping to pull in a few big fish while there
