See I was looking into getting some montec cs's for hogs because they're cut on contact and a smaller cutting diameter means more energy focused into that smaller space which means better penetration for the hogs thick skin. I was gunna use the killzones for whitetail.

Yeah the Montecs have good penetration for sure. To be honest I'm not proud of this but I've sent one on a gold tip 7595 using a z7 through two deer and had double pass though found arrow stuck in the ground. Kinda a sad day for me tho.

The ferrules are not rock hard, they bend easily making all those moving parts out of wack and even harder to replace.

Personally, I don't see where any "pro" of a Rage, outweighs the potential "cons" that they can have. Way too many great fixed heads on the market. My .02

Not sure if you read my post completely- I'm talking specifically about Rage Hypodermics. They ARE rock hard - unlike most broadheads, they feature a one-piece steel ferrule. I can personally attest to the ferrule durability- I hit a steel rod embedded in my target with a Rage Hypodermic practice head and all it did was blunt the tip a bit. A bit - it's still about as sharp as the tip on my out of the box NAP Spitfires.

Say what you want regarding Rages in general and their perceived and actual faults; but Hypodermic ferrules are tough as nails, and have a bone shattering needle-sharp point.

Rage will always be my choice. Nap kill zone doesn't give me pass thru shots.

They do the job but the blades are toast after one shot. I will stick with my Thunderhead 100's!

You can't just blame not getting pass through on the head. I know plenty of people that use that had and have gotten a pass through with it.

Killed multiple deer with the same Rage broadhead multiple times. I've replaced my fair share of o rings but I've never just thrown them away. I think where most people mess up is shooting them at a target because that WILL mess them up 100% of the time.

I like nap kill zones a lot. Once I saw they have no rubber bands or collars, I was sold. But for some reason my arrow will not pass thru with them. So I will stick with the rage because of that. I lost two deer this season so far with the nap kill zones. I shoot the pse stinger 3g, 60lbs, 27 1/2 draw. With Easton hexx 400
