Rage is awesome been using them for year and they get it down and never not had a good blood trail as long as the shot was good. Good luck on your season bro!!
I understand what you were getting at. I used muzzys for a little while and the few deer i killed with them i had trouble finding blood. So thats what made me switch to Rage, seen on hunting shows how they left good blood trails. I've been happy with them ever since!! Its all good i'm not going to harp on your spelling i just think some of the guys didnt understand completely what you meant.
First off, welcome to the Forum! We're always glad to have new members regardless of how good their spelling is. :D Just to clarify something here - a lost animal is rarely, if ever, the product of the broadhead alone. Muzzy broadheads have effectively been killing animals since before the Internet existed. If you run one through the lungs of a whitetail you're going to find it within 150 yards 10 out of 10 times. Second, the quality of your blood trail also has little to do with your choice of broadhead. I've shot deer with everything from a 1 1/8" cut to a 2 1/4" cut and had a variety of blood trails, both good and bad, with every size and shape. The best blood trail I ever had was from a 1 1/8" NAP Nitron. Finally, a large expandable broadhead is not the solution to the problem of better blood trails and more recoveries. Yes, it can help at times. I won't deny that. However it doesn't matter what the size of your broadhead is if you place your shot where it counts you're going to recover your animal and most of the time (not always) have a more than adequate blood trail. The solution is practicing, making sure your gear is tuned properly, and executing the shot when it counts.
Put ANY broadhead in the spot where it's supposed to go and you'll have a dead deer. But overall, expandables are inferior to fixed blade broadheads.

I have never had a problem with my Rocket Steelheads. The always open and most of the time I have good blood trails. The only time I don't get good blood is on high hits where all the bleeding is internal.
Not arguing with you but just curious as to how you came to that conclusion. Are 5 pin sights inferior to single pin sights? It's a very personal preference arguement. OP yes your spelling is not the best but I'm not as ignorant as the others. I call them Internet tough guys. Love to be rude on Internet to make up for how much of a little b$&@$ they are in the real world. Empowers them. Anyways. Yes the rage broad heads are awesome. Here is a list of animals I have put a rage into. White tail, Canadian moose, rabbits, coyotes, wolves, axis deer, wild boars, black bears and a water buffalo. A Canadian moose is 1300+lbs and my 70lb bow pushes it right through the moose. When I killed the water buffalo the arrow penetrated all the way in with only the 2" fetching still sticking out. Look up bone structure of a water buffalo. If a rage can break that rib and still penetrate that much at 40 yards. I'm not sure what else you need. My reasoning for using rage and not other broad heads. I love the mechanicals ability to truly fly like a field tip. I need that confidence when hunting. But also I love the 2" cutting area. My blood trails are like a river. Good luck
Sir, if you got a lung shot on a deer that deer is dead. Idk how hard or long you looked for it and I really don't care, but if you really did get a good lung shot on that deer it is down and dead. I can understand a persons love for a expandable broadhead but saying you get a 4in cut on it is a little extreme. A expandable head will not correct poor shot placement either, there are so many great broadheads that are fixed that are way better than a rage in my opinion, muzzy trocar, muzzy 2 blade 85g, DRT double bevel, magnus snuffer ss, slick tricks, nap thunderheads, the nap bloodrunner are awesome heads, they are the best of both worlds, fly like a field point and cut like a expandable and will always cut guarantee because they have a 2 blade design that has solid cut not fully open and fully open it's about 2in cut. Just my 2 cents and my opinion on this but I just really hope you at least looked for 3 days before giving up on it.
Why do you think forged single bevel broadheads are recommended for big and dangerous game? Like I said, put any broadhead in the right spot you will have a dead deer. Heck, you can put a field point in the right spot and have a dead deer. But things don't always go as planned in the woods. And in the event that I hit bone, a single-bevel is going to penetrate a lot more than your rage broadheads. So I guess I just don't understand making thread proclaiming rage as an amazing broadhead, and putting down muzzy broadheads in the process.
Ya all did a nice job running that guy off... All because he: 1. Didn't recover a deer that he "claims" he in the lung. 2. Doesn't use proper punctuation/Grammer 3. Promotes the use of Rage Broadheads because he didn't recover a deer. My response is simple - I would have changed broadheads also if I thought I had a lung shot and didn't recover the deer. In fact, I would have been using Rage to begin with. But rather than dwelling on what BH you used, not sure how you went about recovering that deer but maybe had you given it a little more time (say over night) you might have recovered it. But you live and you learn. My spelling sucks, I've lost a deer and I shoot Rage. Life goes on!
