Still shoot the Rage 3-Blade's here. Have looked into the chisel tips and the hypodermics but wanted to wait and get some more thoughts on how they performed in the field.
I used the hypodermics some this year. shot two deer with them, one i recovered within 100yds (double lungs) and the other i lost (liver shot i didnt give enough time), which i dont blame the broadhead at all, the broadheads can only work if i put em where they need to be. The doe i recovered using these had 2 great holes, and the arrow was stuck a few inches into the ground. I have also shot a buck with the Rage 3 blade chisels, i am 3 for 3 with that head, full blow thru in regards to penetration, arrow was stuck into the dirt, with pretty good holes, all 3 were found within 50yds of the shot. All in all, i am completely pleased with the Rages both 2 and 3 blade, my ONLY suggestion (read HOPE) is that they make a 3 blade version of the hypo. The one piece ferrule is as strong as you could want and the blades are among some of the sharpest ive ever seen out of the package. Adding a third blade to that hole and cutting surface, my opinion, for the 2 cents that its worth, would make a great head even better. With all that said, im shooting a 70# draw, 30" draw, and 440gr arrow weight....currently using the same arrow that has passed thru 5 deer this season
