For those of you that have used rage What do you think about the rage chisel tip? Do you think the new tip will help with penetration? I have used the coc rages and they have preformed beautifully in the past.

I use Rage 2 blades and I am switching to the Rage Extreme this year. I think the Chisel Tip will do well and probably give a better pass thru.

They're cool looking, but I've been shooting the 2 & 3 blade Rages for years and never had a problem.

Love the chisel on a broadhead of any sorts.

Gene hurt, I hate the O Rings on the Rages too. I think they tried to correct that with the new shock collar on the Rage Extreme. It definitely works better. I checked out the NAP Killzone broadheads yesterday and they are really nice.

I have heard really good reviews on the Blood runner broadheads too. Good starting point for someone set on fixed blades but looking to explore with mechanicals

Not saying you do - but if you have a crappy quiver it will tear up the O Rings on the Rages - you might look into getting the Rage Quiver I have heard pretty good things. http://reviews.basspro.com/2010/102...st-5-arrow-quiver-by-rage-reviews/reviews.htm

I don't have this Quiver, but I think the one I used this year is going to be a lot better. My old one has the foam in the bottom of it and that stuff just tears them O Rings up.

I have tried rage two blade, muzzy 3 blade, and blood runner 2 blade. The rages are obviously dead on with my field points, the muzzys are only slightly off, however the bloodrunners were off by about 4 or 5 inches at 20 yards. In my opinion there are too many quality broad heads out there to buy one that you need to change to sight for.

as far as i understand it the chisel tip on broadheads is for contact with bone. Deflection and or serious loss of penetration can occur if a pointed tip comes into contact with the bone, unless their is a small chisel tip it rather makes a fracture in the bone which allows it to better pass through the fracture and hopefully hit vitals. Does this matter to much if the shot doesnt have to go through bone?
