Question for all you Rage shooters. Please don’t turn this into a this broadhead is better than this one, I know there are many other heads that are good too. I shoot the Rage extreme 2 blade. I’m down to my last couple good ones, and need to buy some replacement blades. But today I was looking at some of the other Rage broad heads, and really like the looks of them. If you shoot a Rage, which one do you shoot? I should add that I only shoot 55 pounds because of a bad shoulder.

I loved the titaniums they were awesome but they quit making them. Check out the Muzzy hybrid no blade retention system, fail proof design and awesome results.

I shoot the regular 2”, non chisel tip. I have a few with the o rings and one shock collar one left. I sort of like the o ring ones, but I’m not sure if they make them anymore. They’ve worked plenty well for me with deer.

I was looking at the chisel tips today at my archery shop. But I have also heard a lot of good things about the hypodermic heads too. I don’t really have any reason to switch, I have had very good luck with the original extreme 2 blade, but I need to get some new blades, and just started looking at the newer rages.

I shoot and love the Muzzy hybrids but 55# is a bit light for them.
I have shot the old Hypodermics and while I don't recommend them for higher KE bows I would probably recommend them for his set up. Killed the only 2 deer I shot with them but on one both blades snapped at the collar notch without hitting any bone. The other one slipped right between the ribs on both sides without hitting bone and stuck about 4" into the dirt without snapping. Go figure.

I have shot about all of the Rage 2 blade types over the years. Last few years been Hypodermics and have been pleased with everything but have had a couple of blades snap which I didn't like. I switched this year to the Trypans which have a thicker blade with a titanium ferrule and have shot a bear, coyote and buck with them. Only managed to bend a blade but no breakage. The Trypans are superior to the Hypodermics in my opinion and the shock collar arrangement on the Trypans are better since it is more foolproof to install. I still have some of the Hypos which I use doe hunting but I will use the Trypans on anything larger. I should add that I shoot 29 inch draw and 70 lbs. You have to watch your KE with these big expandables.

I shoot 60lbs. I use the Chinese knock off version of the Hypodermic. I hunted with them for two years. Got 3 deer.Back when I first got them, they were $22 for one dozen heads. That would have cost me almost $200 for the same 12 Rage heads. I posted a video review somewhere on here.

Hypodermic +P. It has 1 1/2 cut, should work well at your draw weight.

Right now I'm shooting the Rage Trypans...no complaints here. That being said, I shoot a heavy arrow (510gr), have a 31" draw and pull 74lbs. Having that leading edge on the extreme, might be better shooting lighter lbs. I personally loved the rage extreme 2 blades. Served me well....if it ain't broke....

At only 55#, I would definitely shoot a good fixed head. There are lots of them on the market.

As much money as guys are willing to spend on bows and all the other gear that it takes to hit the woods, it baffles me that they would be willing to buy cheap junk for the most critical piece of gear on the business end of the arrow. That would be the absolute last item I would try to save a couple of dollars on. It makes zero sense.
