Shot myself a "trophy doe" Last weekend. I use Rage 2-blade Chisel Tips. Let me tell you they rip. I smoke the doe double-lung pass-thru. she ran about 40 yards and flipped over and put a huge gash in both sides. Can't say enough good things about Rage!!!
I never shot these but from what I've seen and hear... its a blood bath... Ive always used nap splitfires and have had great success with them but always wanted to switch to the rage but I baught so many naps I figured ill wait till they are all gone.. how'd the arrow flight on these...
Shouldn't all properly placed broad heads rip through rib cages and cause a lot of bleeding? Not trying to hate, I've never shot Rage. I personally don't understand all the fuss about broadband choice. Based on hunting magazines and websites (including # of threads on this forum), there is way too much variety, suggesting to me that people are over-thinking it. Shouldn't one set last you for years? Broadheads need to be razor sharp (most all are), dependable (some are?), and not affect arrow flight vs. field points. Affordable is nice too. That's all you need for whitetail deer right?
They are not that expensive, I buy new arrows every year why not broad heads, buy new nocturnals too. If you want to use the same heads year after year stick with fixed.
My local feed guy showed me a doe he shot with a rage quartering away, the head busted 3 ribs and left a 7" incision on the entry wound. I will continue to use them!
I thought that the point of a broad head was to cut and cause blood loss? How could a larger cut possibly be a bad thing?
when i start seeing CONSISTANT pass thru's on deer, i'll quit my rants quite sad when all these hunting shows show deer running away with 1/2 an arrow sticking out. can't remember last time i had a Muzzy hang up??.
As many of the non-passthrough are with fixed blade as they are with any mechanical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
