I'm sure some of you have used the Rage broad heads. I bought them yesterday and all the store owner could do is praise them. So I was wondering if some of you could post pictures or verify that these broad heads are worth the $38.99 i paid. I don't doubt they're good broad heads I just wanna see what they can do :d. Also, I bought the three blades and wow does that practice tip fly like field tips

I do not have a picture, but last season my cousin put a horrible shot on a whitetail it was quartering to him and he it way high and back on the animal. He is very impatient and that is a type of shot you let go till the next day. He instead waited three hours and recovered the deer 50 yrds from where it was hit. The hole that put in that deer was amazing and then I realized why it expired so quickly. I have no personal experience is hitting a deer with them, but I have taken down a ground hog with them and it was pretty impressive.

between myself and a friend, I was using 2 blade he was using 3 blade we shot and recovered 11 deer with Rage heads last year. He did wound 2 deer that were not found, but after looking at the video, he shot far back and low, not the heads fault. I would recommend them to anyone shooting 60# bow or more. They are not anything special as far magical killing power, however, I shot 3 deer last year very high and clipped the spine on all 3 and killed them. Had I been shooting a fixed head I may not have clipped the nerves and lost the deer.. they were bad shots and Rage heads saved me from some serious heart ache. I won't say they are the best head b/c any head placed well can do the job, but they fly wonderfully and impact the same as FPs ..

I love how they fly like field points, but I'm a lil nervous with your staement of having 60 lbs. or more and i'm shooting 50 lbs. and my bow is maxed out

you'll be fine only shooting 50 pounds i think. I've used them for the last 2 years and i love the 2 blade Rages. First of all they fly awesome and they do damage. I dont have any pictures but most of the deer i shot last year, my hand could fit in the hole. Not my fingers, my hand and its not a small hand i got here. But yeah i love them and i think you will be happy with your buy.

Like Jeff said, I think that you might be pushing the button only because of your DW and DL. I think that the heads themselves are great. I had great success with them this past year and was very pleased. Might be mindful of your setup though.

My bow pushes roughly 64# KE and I have not had any issues with penetration, but I do pull 71#...Go with the new 1.5 " 2 blade 40 KE heads, still cuts a mean hole and uses less energy.

I was watching a Jay Gregory video today and watch his son Wyatt, who is shooting only 37 pounds drill a doe with the 2 blade 2 inch head and it put the deer down. Yeah he didnt get a pass through on it which is desired but it worked. SO i really think you'll be fine with the 2 inch but if you fel worried about it, go and get the 1.5 version on them.

I'll use them I'm not worried a bit, but I am wondering if I'll get full penetration or if it will stay inside the deer.

Honestly that is a poor outlook to have... Exit holes are what is most important as they are a huge factor in how good of a blood trail you will have to follow.

Don't shoot a head because everyone else is. You need to shoot the head that best matches your setup.

It is better to have a smaller exit hole than no exit hole at all.

I shot them, with great results... but I rarely acheived a pass-thru, so I went back to G5 strikers, I dont remember exactly was poundage I was pulling, But I was using light arrows in the 290's fps. Heres one I almost missed low, but the rage pulled through for me...

    Here's another more practical result...

Last year my equipment was a 52# pse nova with a 28" draw. I was using the two blade rage and hit my deer at 8.5 yds. Practically standing on top of him. My arrow is about 340 grains total and it penetrated 8-10" after cutting through a rib. The deer did run about 350 yds. That was because of my shot. Because he was in so close, I didnt realize I need to aim so low with my 15yd pin. It was a liver/stomach shot. Still brought him down eventually. Hellachious Entry hole.

Shot them last season. I have more than enough KE, but I am considering going back to a COC type of head. Who knows. I don't think you are looking at this rationally though. And if it's true about Jay G.'s kid shooting them out of a 37pound bow, then I've lost some respect, cause that's not wise IMO.

I will continue to shoot them until they give me reason not to.
