Thoughts? I shot my first deer with the 3 blade Chisel Tips and they left a tremendous blood trail. I like them and I wanted to hear some of your guys' opinions.

Shot Rage two blades for two years, now I'm back to Slick Tricks. Nothing pissed me off more than having to change the blades after every deer I shot. I like the ST's because I can take the blades off in a couple seconds and sharpen them back to a razors edge, put them back together, and keep on killing deer with the exact same blades. Rages get too expensive if you kill lots of deer.

I used rages for 1 season about 3 years ago, they were decent broadheads, cut wise and bloodtrails were good, however i had one broadhead where the o-ring didint even break and the blades never deployed, i asked a few people if thats ever happened to them. But no, just me. Luckily, the black bear i shot got hit right in the heart (only 20 yrd shot) so managed to find him about 250 yrs from where i took the shot...since then havent used them, but for most hunters they seem to work, seems like everyones that using them loves them, for me with my experience Never Again!

Another thing with rages: they are one shot broadheads. Everytime i shot an animal the blades were bent to s**t. So that would get expensive if you hunt a lot with them.

I use the 2 blade chisel tips and love them. Thinking about the Scwhacker's next.

I like the two blades. I haven't had my blades bend like some other guys. I'll be picking up some chisel tip extreme's.

I love the Rage. They're devastating on good shots and have saved me big time on bad shots.
FullTimekiller, from my experience and knowledge of the heads, the o-ring isn't supposed to break, it's just to keep the blades in place.
I hear horror stories about how the Rage fails and whatnot, but I am always reminded of the deer I have taken with them, that I may not have been able to find

Just from myself using them they worked good, except for the one time. I had every o-ring break or fall off at least then, but on the one, it was like nothin happened at all.. The arrow broke off while the bear was running and when i looked at the broadhead the blades were still perfectly in tackt, and the ring was still on there, it looked like i never even shot the BH. I know that the rages are good heads and they seem to work for everyone. Not sayin they arent good!

I understand. Got a few good friends and good hunters who despise them.
There is risk and reward for every broadhead

Very over-priced disposable head. I think they are junk compared to many quality heads on the market.

I used the 2 blade 125 grain rage broadheads for 3 years. I switched to 125 grain swhackers this year. The swhackers really impressed me. If you want to compare the 2, put 1 in each hand. You will see the difference really quick. In my opinion the swhackers are more rigid.

    Exactly.

Now, can we discuss more important topics like:

Whats the best arrow for me?
    Whats the best COC/Mechanical?
    Do I have enough KE?
Is this buck old enough to shoot?
Is this buck big enough to shoot?
Whats the best stabilizer for me?
    Mechanical vs Fixed
What fixed blade flies like FP's?
Hit a buck perfect, lost it!
    Mechanical didn't open!

I'm picking up some 100gr. Scwhackers tomorrow. There there 1.75" blade one's. I really like the way they look.

IMO, a comparable broadhead to Rage is the NAP Killzone....I'm starting to think I like the way they look and are made better than my Rage Chisel Tips. I wouldn't mind trying them either...but going to give Scwahckers a try this season first though. So the Scwhackers are made better?

We don't talk about shooting cats nearly enough. Has anyone shot a cat with a Rage? Did it open? How did it hold up?

Really rage are flimsy things that don't penetrate worth a dam... On a positive note I think they have seen the light and started moving in a slightly different direction with their newest offering...time will tell....

Regarding move on....No to the above... a lot of us are interested in this.
I've used Rage and Swackers and lost deer w both. Shot placement is what it's all about. I'm thinking seriously of going back to 4 blade Muzzy. In fact I've been using 100gr. but may try 125 and see how they fly. I know I'll lose a little fps but I really believe the little extra weight can make a difference.
