They will work fine, it's all about shot placement. At 63lbs, you should have plenty of KE to get the job done.

Nobody knows what your KE is because they dont know what your arrow weight is. I would leave the Rages at home and use a good fixed blade head. Far too many bad things happen with large expandables. Not worth taking the chance.

i shoot 62 lbs out of my drenalin and have taken 8 deer with them....

the key to a quick clean kill is all in the shot placement...

    good luck to you

A lowball KE for that bow and a 350 grain arrow would be about 60 ft-lbs. In my opinion, you should be just fine.

I would not recommend a 2" expandable for anything less than 65 ft/lbs of KE and would prefer at least 70 ft/lbs.

It still amazes me about how many guys just jump on the big expandable bandwagon with no clue and encourage all their buddies to use them. Many that use them and also encourage them dont even know about KE. Rage's marketing is nothing less than criminal in my opinion. Snake oil salesmen. And really there is nothing to gain by using them other than introducing one more moving part into your setup that has an opportunity to fail at the worst possible time. They do a nice job of masking poor tune jobs though. Ofcourse that only compounds the issue of poor penetration. I have seen dozens of big game animals tip over in 30 yards or less from fixed blade broadheads. Many, many more in 50 yards or less. You gain nothing folks, but risk a lot. My long-time group of hunting buddies have tried them all. Every single one of us went back to fixed blades after a few short seasons.

I went round and round with the inventor (one of them anyway) about minimum requirements for the 2" and the marketing behind them. Due to my conversations with him, mostly public and a couple PM's, I will never use them.

I have only seen one guy, Matt/PA, ever give a convincing argument for them, and it was very convincing, but even he had minimum requirements.

People complain all the time about crossbows allowing slob hunters when, IMO, the rage 2" expandable has created more "slob" hunters than anything on the market.

I am not opposed to using them with the right setup, they can be devastating with the right setup but, unfortunately, many have the absolute wrong setup for them. Couple that with crappy shot selection, "it's like throwing an axe through an animal" so you can shoot it anywhere at any angle and then you have a recipe for disaster or, at least, someone worse than a crossbow hunter ;) .

Nothing against mechs... Hoping for an easier tracking job for my old eyes, I tried taking several deer with Meatseekers and a couple other heads and they kill deer fine but none have provided the advertised tracking advantage over my Muzzy heads, whatsoever, and I get a pass through every time with Muzzy unless I hit the spine. Pass throughs seem to produce more blood... way more blood! Flooded swamp bottoms and pine thickets are hard enough to track through when the blood is plenteous. So sticking to Muzzy is my plan as well.
