this year will be my first year setting out a blind and i have heard that people have had trouble with leaving their blinds out and having them torn to pieces by varmint...coons mostly...and i have a lot of pictures of coons and possums around the area where i plan to set my blind. has your blind been tore up by coons?? do they tear up blinds? and if so how would i prevent it without scaring deer? thanks!
dont leave any type of food products or drink bottles in the blind cause they get in there with other coons and fight over wrappers and bottles.just make sure you zip up ya blind and have it staked down good so they cant crawl under the sides plus if you disguise it pretty good it'll hide it from them as well as thieves plus you dont want to go jump in the blind with a coon thats cornered it wouldnt be pretty!
i put up a blind and left it out for just under 2 years. i didn't have any animal problems, found some dead bees but no nests. only problem i had is the big snowfall . the first year it was out i never thought about it and went out scouting to find it in a pile. had to put a metal pipe inside the center from the ground to the center of the top of the blind and it was fine. good luck hope nothing happens to it, i'd actually be more worried about some person stealing it.
I have problems with Black Bears almost every year any suggestions, I do not leave food or drink in the blind it seems to be a curiosity thing.
