Nice job fellas, if we can't ever get the cooler weather on the weekends should start seeing more around here. Last 2 weekends it's been in the 80's and this weekend might be too. Nice hunting weather during the week tho ha.

Right now I'm trying to figure out what week I'm gonna take off work in November. Gonna review some pics from last couple year and try to get timing right.

Yea need to look at that too. Can kinda pick whenever want really. Taking time off work is pretty much saying " hey I'm taking off", ha. Advantage of working for somebody known whole life

Well I think I'm hunting Friday night but then Saturday looks like rain so I might stay home. Then I got off Nov. 3rd- 7th.
Work on the 8th and 9th, Then I'm off work again from Nov. 10th-15th.

What has the activity been like for you guys? Last week Friday I had a young buck come in chasing 3 does thinking he knew what he was doing. Then I saw a small 6-8 point that came in to about 25 yards and froze for 30 mins and never moved a muscle until I had to climb down.

Vacation started today I'm off until the 7th. I wish the weather was looking cooler but what the hell can you do. I just wish Minnesota would move rifle/shotgun season later into November. But I guess that's just wishful thinking.

    Rod,

You and me both, I don't understand why the MN DNR can't make the first few weeks November either bow only, or use that time for youth hunts or something. oh well, gotta chase them while we can before the orange army invades.

    How does Minnesota do it?

In Ohio the week after Thanksgiving is gun season. Then a few weeks later we get a weekend of gun and in January we get 4 days of muzzleloader.

A few years ago they did an early doe season in October but abandoned it quickly.

My gripe with Ohio is how easy it is for out of state hunters to come in and kill alot of deer. I believe they should still be able to do it...just make it cost more. Cash in on some of the resources availible.

WV opens up at the end of sept. With bow only and it runs until dec 31st.

We have a youth day gun hunt which is doe only mid oct on Saturday.

Then a 3 day gun hunt for antlerless the week after youth. I wish they would get rid of it. It does nothing but **** the woods up.

Opening day of buck rifle is 2 weeks and it comes in the week of Thanksgiving. After the rifle season we have muzzleloader after that for a week.

Oh yeah... we also have a 3 day gun hunt after xmas... which is in the middle of the week. Like tues wed thurs... i talked to the dnr last year about it and its to help get the doe population down and for anyone who got a gun on xmas it gives them a chance to shoot a deer with it. Its a big joke IMO

Our gun season starts Nov 6th it's always right when the rut gets started. There was a youth season last weekend which I'm fine with letting the kids get an early chance. Muzzleloader starts around thanksgiving. Non resident license is 165 which should at least double in my opinion. The Dnr in Mn is doing a really s....y job in a lot of ways with our deer herd.

I haven't checked the thread in a couple of days! Great buck Chris! Hopefully the upcoming vacations result in a few more bucks on the ground! This makes me wish I had a late tag this year.
